Dropping the Bar

I originally intended to only post when I had some sort of inspired thought, but as it turns out I am not oft inspired.  I guess that makes sense considering I am a man who has had a blank canvas sitting in his room for years.  Maybe I just put too much pressure on myself to only do great things.  I wanted to challenge the notion that blogs have to be either wannabe news outlets or mundane rantings about shit nobody cares about.  I still don't want to do either of those things but I think I need to lower the bar in my mind.  It's not like this is going to be The Wire of blogs.

Speaking of The Wire, I purchased David Simon's The Corner as well as Richard Price's Clockers.  It is strange that a middle-class white guy who doesn't do drugs such as myself would be so interested in realistic portrayals of inner-city black drug markets, but what can I say?  I find it interesting.
